We were in the weeds today. The weeds at Nichols Park, that is! Today the Eclipse team partnered with the Chicago Park District to clean up Nichols Park’s formal gardens. With help from a gardening club member, we pulled weeds from several of the flower beds. We also worked with a Chicago Park District representative to dig out soil that had covered a cement path and relocated the soil to fill in gaps along the edges of other sidewalks.

We loved getting outside for three hours to help the community and maintain the park’s natural beauty. Local residents enjoyed seeing the edge of the sidewalks finally filled in and one even joined in with weeding the gardens as she walked her dog!

Chicago Park Districts has lots of different projects going on to keep Chicago’s parks and facilities beautiful and running smoothly. Check out ways you can get involved at http://www.chicagoparkdistrict.com/.
