The Eclipse Team set sail Thursday July 16th aboard the Chicago Elite Yacht hosting a key discussion on the cloud and unified communications. The event represented a diverse group of companies ranging from the construction industry to media production.  CEO Dave Dyson led a panel of telecom experts highlighting the importance of cloud based communication and the current trends in VoIP and SIP users.  Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), is a technology that allows people to make voice calls using a broadband Internet connection instead of a regular (or analog) phone line. Likewise, the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is a communications protocol for signaling and controlling multimedia communication sessions.  This application is mostly used for internet telephony and video calls. Enterprise VoIP or SIP adoption currently is only at 15%.  2020 projections detail that about 90% of enterprises will be using VoIP or SIP systems. There are so many benefits to using a VoIP and SIP including cost savings, user interface, mobility, and much more.

Eclipse Telecom is a company built of experts who are eager to share their knowledge and help companies transform their telecom from a necessity to a strategic business move that helps stimulate growth.  The event offered an educational platform, allowing for a trending discussion on a topical matter. Relevant CIOs nationwide enjoyed the hospitality of the Chicago Elite as they were treated to music, hors d’oeuvres and drinks overlooking the beautiful Chicago skyline.
