Eclipse Telecom welcomes game changers Marilyn Zubak and Lena Rutherford to the team as our Chief Interns this summer. Both Marilyn and Lena join us from Miami University's Altman Scholars Program. They will be managing our marketing strategies, putting together our summer event, and competing vigorously in the Intern Olympics.
Marilyn is a Marketing major at Miami University with a knack for alliteration. She is infamous for knowing everyone and shaking hands with whomever she does not. Passionate about learning, she is always reading, asking questions, and listening to broaden her knowledge.
Born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, she has an unrivaled love for deep dish and cannot navigate the Brown line to save her life. Marilyn’s dedication and loyalty are proven by her unwavering support of the Cubs, although she is blindly convinced this is the year.
As chief intern Marilyn will take on anything and everything that Eclipse throws her way. Marilyn’s areas of expertise include communication, marketing strategies, creative problem solving, and leadership. Utilizing her strong people skills, she will be able to relate with the customers to ensure Eclipse is providing services that exceed their needs.
A proactive planner, projects will be approached with a big picture outlook that is supported by attention to details. Combining analytics and creativity, she will be taking innovative, yet educated risks. She is not just here to go on Starbucks runs, although if asked nicely she will most likely say yes. She is here to make a difference. Not only will she complement, but she will also enhance the current culture of Eclipse and we are ecstatic for the impact Marilyn will make on our company.
Lena joins our team from the faraway land of Colorado. Bringing her enthusiasm for long hikes in the Rockies and stellar highway driving skills, Lena is excited to join our team. She has always been passionate about telecom, starting when her dad gave her a flip phone in the third grade. While she didn’t know how to text and once accidentally flung it against a wall, she has learned a lot about phone usage in the last ten years. Lena looks forward to bringing her sage wisdom on how not to fling and accidentally drop phones, as well as learning more about things like the mysterious setting of ringtones and the pre-recorded voicemail.
An undeclared major at the Farmer School of Business, Lena is currently leaning toward double majoring in Entrepreneurship and Interactive Media Studies with a minor in Spanish. A member of Gamma Phi Beta, the Business Student Advisory Council, and the marketing committee for Miami’s only fashion magazine, Up, Lena certainly has a wide range of interests. In her free time, she loves yoga, dancing to songs no one can hear, spending fifteen minutes picking out outfits, and modeling in her friend’s photo recreating a scene from Mean Girls. She is excited to bring her flawless fashion expertise and to explore more areas of passion here at Eclipse.
